Events we've Done
Over the years we've run several small and large events/games/quests on the server for players to enjoy. Here's a list of some of the things we've done:
- Animal Painting -
Players were able to claim a (low lvl, neutered) animal (we used Marnii horses that were admin painted plain black), and given access to unlimited supplies of dye and paintbrushes - to create a masterpiece on their horse. At the end of the week, photos were taken of the animals, and a poll set up on our discord so that players could vote for their favourite design. Winners got prizes.
- Archery -
Using the CKF (Legacy) Archery target, we had an archery range set up, a target designated for each player, and a prize for whoever managed to get the highest score.

- Barrel race -
A basic Barrel racing (horse riding) track was set out, with numbered barrel points players had to ride around in the correct order. Winner was the player who did it in the fastest time.

- Battle Sheep/Chickens -
Players had 1 month notice to breed up an army of "Battle Sheep" - 20 of which would be put into a battle arena with alpha predators (Carno, Rex and Raptor - 1 at a time, with a fresh round of sheep each time). Players won a prize if their Sheep managed to kill the alpha (Amazingly, they did!!) We did this again with Marnii chickens, setting them to fight against an Allo.

- Boat building -
Players were encouraged to build a boat on a raft, using whatever they wanted. Admins judged which boat was the "best"

- Bounty Hunting -
As we had a "Western" themed server, we hid mannequins around the map in little camp sites, and players were given the Co-ords for where these dangerous outlaws were hidden, and they had to go apprehend them. Each mannequin either had a code in their name, or a chest of notes by them (we did this a few times), so players could provide proof they had located them.
- Breeding Challenge -
Players were given certain coloured animals, and needed to breed them together to create an exact copy of animals they needed to get. For example on Valentines, players worked in pairs, one was given a pink horse, one a purple horse, and they had to breed those together to get a horse with both the pink and purple colour regions. We did it again with different coloured X-saberthooths and other animals. Players are given a screenshot of the animal they need to recreate and the colours in each region (the RPE tame storage jats are used to see the colours in each region, so that players know when they have it right)

- Cattle/Sheep Drive -
Players each had a pen of Marnii Cattle or Ovis they were able to claim, and they needed to take them across the map to an NPC farm that was set up and leave them in their marked pen there. The animals were custom Admin painted to show if they had been cryopodded/jarred (Basically they were admin coloured red, then coloured ontop of this in a way that would undo if they were cryopodded - to show if the player had cheated and not actually taken them there the proper way.) Prizes were awarded for every animal safely delivered.

- Corners -
A playing area was set up with 4 different coloured corners (painted foundations). Players gathered in the centre then had to choose a corner to go stand in. One colour was announced from a predefined order to be "out" and any player standing on that colour foundation had to leave the game.

- Death maze -
A maze filled with different creatures to battle, set to spawn using Simple Spawners. Different rooms held different creatures. Built in our event arena, so we could keep everything contained.

- Easter Egg Hunt -
Done on our dino-free server. Players were told when the egg hunt would be on and were asked to sit in a spot in town and wait while Admin dropped various dino eggs (that were unobtainable any other way) around town. Players then had until the eggs spoiled to be able to find the eggs. Eggs were able to be traded in for various prizes (different eggs offering different things) during the event.

- Elephant Maze -
Using our Event arena, we set up a very basic maze and players had to ride an elephant through. Winner was the player with the quickest time. To make it more of a challenge, the ceiling of the arena was made opaque, so they could not see over the walls of the maze and did not know the maze pattern!

- Event Shop -
For most of our themed events (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentines, St Patricks Day etc.) We have a shop area set up, using the RPE Edditions mod merchant carts. Players trade in a resource (Beer for St Patricks day, Pumpkins for Halloween etc.) and get a special event token (A coloured token or a resource/item that doesn't spawn on the map). They can then use those tokens to buy a variety of event skins and event coloured high lvl animals from the Event store.

- Geocaching -
A sign and (Simple spawners) loot crates was hidden at various points around the map, each spot giving the co-ords for the next location. Players were given the starting co-ords via a discord announcement, and had to go out and find all the spots. The last location held a chest with notes, and the players who returned one of those notes won a prize.
- Hidden Outpost -
Each month we had a moving NPC camp/hut where players could go to mine gems (added to the area with simple spawners) and sell those gems to the NPC "Collectors". The location of the new camp was posted in cryptic form on a sign in town.

- Hide and seek (Animals) -
Tamed (neutered) brightly coloured animals were filled with loot, put on wander then unclaimed. Players were told the rough location the animals were left in, and whoever found them got to keep them and any loot inside.

- Hide and seek (Mannequins) -
In our event arena a forest was set up (using Eco's Trees mod), and 4 Mannequins were hidden inside, named with a code. Players had to find all the mannequins and write their codes on notes and place them in their chest to win a prize.

- High Dive -
A very high platform was made above a lake, with a "target hole" players had to successfully fall into - which led to an underwater tunnel with a code, so that players could prove they succeeded and win their prize. Players had as many attempts as they wanted for this event, and while it was done over water to help limit death, it was a looooooooong climb back up for each attempt!

- Hunt for Mythical Creatures -
Taxidermied strange creatures were hidden in different locations around the map, with vague clues as to the locations, and players had to find them and take a screenshot of themsleves with them as proof they had found them.

- Loot Maze -
A server favourite! (See the Halloween page for videos of the mazes) A temporary Castle was built, with twisty hallways (vaguely maze-like), with chests for each player tucked away in hidden spots, filled with loot. Also hidden signs with pincodes to access other chests of loot.

- Monkey fling -
Using a Gigantopithecus to "fling" players, we had 3 "boards" set up (We made them look like Minecraft character heads) with holes in them, and players had 5 shots at each "Board" to try and fling themselves into the holes to get the loot chests in them.

- Obstacle course -
Using our Event Arena space, an obstacle course was set up, that included jumping puzzles, walking over catwalks, swimming underwater and using ziplines. No prizes awarded, we did it just for fun, but awards could be given for players with the fastest time.

- Pig racing (racetrack) -
Using the Gunsmoke Pigs (although Phiomia would work), we set up a multi-level racetrack and players had to race their way to the end. If they fell off the track they could start again.

- Pony Express Mail Run -
A Pony Express outpost was created, and we ran the event several times, where players each had a chest containing some "letters" (notes) and packages (boxes/crates) that they needed to deliver. Letters were themed to the shops around the town and they needed to be taken from the Pony Express outpost to the Post Office in town. Players had to use the provided Marnii Ponies for the event, and had as long as they needed to run it. Prizes were awarded when the player's chests in the post office had the mail they had delivered.

- Rare Herds -
Using simple spawners and Marnii horses, custom coloured high lvl horses (eg all white or all black) were spawned in various areas of the map, with vague hints (and example screenshots) given of the locations these special herds were located in.
- Snail racing -
A small track was created where players could walk on glass ceilings above it, or along the sides, and each player had a coloured snail they could claim (and wore clothing of the same colour). They had to guide their snail through the maze (whistling it to follow). Winner was the player whose snail made it to the end first.
- Snakes and ladders -
A Vertical game board was created, with alternating black and white numbered squares. Using Ladders and a drop down (snake). Players used our discord dice roll RNG generator to roll the "dice" and move the number of squares it said to move. The player reaching the last square got to raid the custom spawned loot crates (using simple spawners).

- Taming Cave -
Because we weren't activating the official events, we had an event cave area designated as the taming cave and using Simple Spawners, a variety of mostly small shoulder pets (and some larger passive creatures) were spawned in using custom colours for that event. For example Valentines, Easter, Halloween etc.

- Tree raft racing -
Using Eco's Trees mod, we put a large redwood tree onto rafts, and players had to drive these now ridiculous (and nearly impossible to see out of) rafts around the windy river from the start to finish point.

- Turkey Toss -
A playing area was set up with an elevated "tossing spot" and a recessed "hole" into which the turkeys had to land. Players took it in turns to have 3 throws of a turkey, trying to get it into the hole. All players who succeeded in a toss got a prize for each successful turn.
